This enigmatic forests houses over 15,000 plant species, including the largest flower on earth, the Rafflesia. And wild animals like the Pygmy Elephants, the Proboscis Monkey, Orang Utan, Clouded Leopards, Hornbills and Crocodiles. The Borneo Ironwood or Belian Wood that is in this region has been used for centuries by the local tribes for building houses and making coffins with intricate carvings for the dead.
